His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited the DFSA and met with the full DFSA Board on 14 February 2012. The DFSA made a presentation to His Highness on the strategy of the DFSA and its engagement with regulatory bodies around the world. The Board had earlier approved the DFSA’s Strategy and Business Plan for 2012. The Ruler commended the Board and the staff of the DFSA on the quality of their work and on their achievements to date and encouraged them to continue to strive for excellence in implementing global standards in regulation.
  
The Ruler also received a presentation on the DFSA’s ‘Tomorrow’s Regulatory Leaders’ (TRL) programme and met with many of the talented Emiratis who are part of the 2 year programme or who have graduated from it and are now working as regulators within the DFSA.
 
His Highness stressed the importance of maintaining the DFSA’s regulatory independence and commended the DFSA on its contribution to the success of the DIFC and its commitment to developing its staff.     
 
His Highness was accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum , His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman and CEO of The Emirates Group, and Their Excellencies Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Mohammed Al Shaibani, the Director General of His Highness The Ruler's Court.
