DFSA Authorised Firm Impersonated on Fake Website

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) alerts the financial services community and members of the public to a scam where an Authorised Firm, NNG Reinsurance Limited, has been impersonated.

The scammers have set up a fake website (https://www.nngreinsuranceltd.com) that includes information about NNG Reinsurance Limited.

On the fake website, the scammers have fraudulently used the following without permission:

  • the name and a fake logo of NNG Reinsurance Limited;
  • the address of NNG Reinsurance Limited; and
  • the names of some of NNG Reinsurance Limited’s Senior Management.

The fake website also includes a fake e-mail address ([email protected]).

The DFSA strongly advises you not to visit the fake website, or send any communications to the fake e-mail address.

The DFSA informs you that NNG Reinsurance Limited is authorised by the DFSA as a Class 2 Captive Insurer to provide the Financial Services of Carrying Out Contracts of Insurance and Effecting Contracts of Insurance only in respect of risks related to or arising out of the business or operations of its related group of companies (the Group), or of persons who engage by way of business in commercial activities with the Group.  NNG Reinsurance Limited is not authorised by the DFSA to:

  • conduct insurance intermediation activities;
  • conduct insurance management activities; or
  • write insurance policies directly with 3rd party policyholders.

For this reason, NNG Reinsurance Limited does not have a website and does not correspond directly with actual or prospective policyholders.

The DFSA has a page on its website dedicated to alerts which it has issued about scams. All alerts issued by the DFSA may be accessed by going to: ALERTS

The DFSA has also issued warnings and guidance about the common types of scams perpetrated on consumers. For more information on these scams, please go to: HOW TO AVOID BEING SCAMMED

The DFSA encourages consumers to refer to the list of regulated Firms and Authorised Individuals licensed by the DFSA that is available on the DFSA's: PUBLIC REGISTER
