DFSA Authorised Firm Impersonated in Scam

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) alerts the financial services community and the public to a scam in which a legitimate DFSA authorised firm, Dalma Capital Management Limited (Dalma), was impersonated.

On a website, the scammers claim to be a firm called “D Finance Capital Management Ltd” which offers financial services, including personal loans at an upfront processing fee, to the public.  The scammers:

  • falsely state that D Finance Capital Management Ltd is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA Ref. F002345)”.  “F002345” is the genuine DFSA licence number of Dalma; and
  • fraudulently use Dalma’s actual logo, office address and phone number.

The DFSA confirms that D Finance Capital Management Ltd:

  • is not incorporated or located in the DIFC; and
  • is not, and has never been, authorised or registered by the DFSA.

The scammers have fraudulently:

  • impersonated Dalma by citing Dalma’s address, phone number, logo and DFSA licence number without authority and permission;
  • informed victims that D Finance Capital Management Ltd is associated with, or is an entity of, Dalma;
  • imitated Dalma’s website to make it appear that D Finance Capital Management Ltd is connected with the legitimate firm;
  • stated that D Finance Capital Management Ltd is regulated by the DFSA, which is also false and misleading; and
  • asked victims to provide copies of identification cards and salary certificates to support their personal loan applications.

Dalma has also issued an Alert on its website about the scam.

The DFSA strongly advises you not to respond to any communications regarding this scam, and under no circumstances should you send or give any money to any party connected to the scam.
